Dr. Manahel Thabet recently participated in the dynamic workshop “Their Future, Our Action,” hosted by the University of Cambridge in collaboration with the Commonwealth. The event, held under the patronage of Her Excellency Rt Hon Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, brought together a diverse group of experts, High Commissioners, and young leaders to discuss and develop innovative strategies for enhancing sustainable finance, particularly for Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
The workshop focused on the unique challenges faced by SIDS, which are often at the forefront of climate change impacts but lack the financial infrastructure to implement sustainable solutions effectively. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions aimed at identifying practical and scalable financial strategies to support these vulnerable nations in their pursuit of sustainable development goals.
Dr. Thabet’s involvement in the workshop highlights her ongoing commitment to global sustainability efforts and her role as an advocate for innovative financial solutions in emerging economies. The event was a crucial step towards fostering collaboration between academia, international organizations, and young leaders, ensuring that the strategies developed are both impactful and inclusive.
